Kenneth Sabel, Psy.D.
Dr. Sabel holds the belief, that the therapeutic relationship is a training ground for all other relationships. It stands as a vital instrument in healing many of the wounds from prior and current relationships. He understands the difficulty in moving forward when anxiety, stress, depression, and old patterns of behavior stand in the way. It has been his experience, that a greater level of success in therapy is achieved when a holistic approach is applied to one’s treatment. He believes that the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of the individual should be addressed as a whole.
Dr. Sabel holds a Masters’ degrees in both education and psychology, as well as a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Ryokan University in Los Angeles California. He has been a consultant in the education system for the past ten years and has over 20 years of experience in education. He has worked in clinical settings specializing in addiction, anxiety, mood disorders, codependency, depression, and trauma. In private pratice, Dr. Sabel works with adults, couples, and adolescents to better cope with a variety of other mental challenges.
Utilizing attachment theory and mindfulness as a platform, Dr. Sabel creates space for clients to safely discover and embrace parts of themselves they felt were too difficult to face or accept. He provides clients with a warm, nonjudgmental environment – a safe place to explore the issues that may be preventing them from living the life they desire. He incorporates elements of cognitive behavioral therapy, as it offers clients the opportunity to reconstruct the meaning they have attached to individual experiences. Ultimately, Dr. Sabel believes in a person-centered approach, where the client is empowered to direct his/her therapy and ask for what they need.
